Luna’s Quest For Forever Love: A Story of Healing and Redemption

Hoomans call me Luna! My first Mommy Myriam heard of our critical situation, my two siblings and myself, from a friend who lived close to where we were born. She instantly ran in our direction to rescue us. It was a long and extremely challenging mission.

We were dying, in particular me. I was so dehydrated and anemic that my gum color turned white… We spent 3 hours in the first vet clinic.

My Hooman had to go to the pharmacy and buy two different kinds of medication for the hundreds of ticks infesting our little body. Also, she had to use a medical clamp to manually remove some of them.

The vet gave us shots of medication and vitamins to help with the acute dehydration and anemia. Unfortunately, there was no vacant crate for us at the vet’s. It was the summer holiday season with so many resident pets.

Our Mommy Myriam had to spend 2 hours in her car in the full heat calling all the animal pensions in Tunis to find a spot for us, while checking our state every 5 minutes, without much success.

Eventually, she decided to take us to one of her most adored vets. This exceptional lady and Mommy gave us medical baths, a task that took 3 long hours. Moreover, we got more vitamin shots to boost our too-fragile immune system.

Our hooman had to spend 2 more hours looking for a pension since the kind vet had parvovirus contamination and it wasn’t an option to take 1% of risk! Only one animal hotel accepted us. The rates were exorbitant explaining why there were free spots!

Three days later, one of my siblings was miraculously adopted. Mommy took my brother Max and me to another vet clinic where some spots were freed. Our health state was not stable. We remained on perfusion for a few days, after which Max was transferred to a paid foster family.

I had to stay longer because I was diagnosed with the parvovirus that I was able to vanquish (oh yes, I am a warrior)! I joined Max after finishing my 15 days of quarantine.

Our second hooman Donia adopted us from Belgium. Unfortunately, Mommy had to move us from one place to another where she paid people to take care of us (supposedly). We went through so many trauma instances. The last one completely broke me.

My sibling Max who was super anxious and dominated starved for two weeks. He passed away after going through acute suffering. I couldn’t do anything to save him. I still couldn’t get over it…

I currently reside in a shelter in Hawariyya where I am so well loved by my guardian angel Mommy Justine, and sponsored by our Mommy Donia.

When I joined my tribe after a failed adoption attempt, I was shaking out of fear. I was so traumatized that I couldn’t be part of my adoptive siblings’ group without feeling terrified. My last hooman Justine had to keep me in her place until I could progressively retrieve my lost confidence…

I am looking for my forever-loving home. I am aware and convinced that your unconditional love, a personal warm bed and couch, yummy food, and tons of toys would do wonders in healing my bleeding heart. I promise to love you deeply and way more in return! I am vaccinated, spayed, and have frequent check-ups at the vet.

Please don’t hesitate to contact them for more details about the international adoption process.
