Love Knows No Species: A Story of Devotion, Compassion, and Unconditional Love

I would deal with their BS every hour if it could lead to a happy ending for our fur friends!

No matter how talented, rich, or intelligent you are, how you treat animals tells me all I need to know about you. — An unknown wise person.

I was feeding a kittie Momma and her kids someone dumped in a trashy box that used to be a tobacco kiosk. It was so dirty the kittens contracted Ringworm, in all likelihood — at least what appeared from the symptoms.

Someone came in silence from behind like a thief when I was serving some treat, which they love, before adding, “Can I talk to you for a second?”

“Sure!” (I might need to specify here that I hoped my intuition about him was wrong as I’m too tired of my almost daily encounters with them)

“I was wondering whether you could feed them elsewhere”

“I beg your pardon! So, instead of assuring me that you’d take good care of them given that you live here, you’re asking me to move them?”

“Well, they’re bothering me…”

“So, all this trash didn’t bother you but living beings who didn’t ask for being dumped in such a filthy environment do?”

“Well, I’m talking to you because we’re humans and can understand each other, right”?

“Oh no no no, I can’t and don’t want to understand!”

“Well, this is my property (the atrocious box) and I need it!”

“That’s the biggest delusion of humankind, it seems to me! No one owns anything from our beautiful Earth!

We, humans, created money and believed a lie that merely nurtures our sick ego… This piece of land is this family’s too like it is the case for the whole planet!”

“I guess I should have used the help of someone who knows how to talk to your kind! Now, you better take your car and leave before something bad happens to both of you!”

(Me smiling calmly)
“I’m taking notes!”
(A woman — or at least what appears to be one — shows up)

“What’s going on? It’s you again! Now I understand why there has been a rise in the number of stolen house incidents lately! You come, explore the possibilities, plan, and send your people to execute!”

(Me smiling peacefully and trying my very best not to laugh loudly! For those of you who are not familiar with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, this manipulation tactic is called Projection.)

“Right…”
(Her, frustrated by my absence of reactivity, repeats her last father’s words)

“Like I said to your father, I’m taking notes!”
(Her cursing quietly and giving me two middle fingers)

“Show me what you’ve got!”
When I was about to leave after this encounter, I saw something grey moving quickly and trying to catch some leftovers… It turned out to be a tiny kitten not older than a month.

‘He was terrified’ would be an underestimation. Leaving him alone wasn’t an option especially since my fur scars are my true diamonds, and I wear them proudly daily!

I kept him in my bathroom that night. It was too late for the vet anyway and I didn’t want to inflict more stress on the baby.

The following day, he started to warm up to me when realizing I wasn’t a threat and that all I was offering was unconditional love. I took him to the clinic for a general check-up in the afternoon.

The vet found out he had a fever and needed some medication. We took care of deworming him as well. He started to be active and unwilling to stay in the bathroom.

My bed was way more comfortable which I could understand frankly! But there was a problem: I live in a too-small flat with adult fur kids — two of whom don’t appreciate having newcomers at all!

I realized I had to find a foster parent and was over the moon when my sweet neighbor agreed to welcome him for a few days!

Little did she know that he would become such a precious kid and their separation would feel unbearable… She’s a student living with her parents and five more fur kids, so adopting him wasn’t only her decision!

Fortunately, she has a friend who is another animal lover and is willing to give the baby boy his forever-loving home! Meanwhile, all my adorable neighbor could control was to exchange pure love with her protege!
